Hello,

Beautiful tank you have there. If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been keeping your male Lyretail anthias? It is full of color and just beautiful. What kind of food are you feeding it and how many times a day? I have the same Lyretail anthias and it was beautiful at first but after 2 years, the color just fade away and I don't know what to do to get it back to the original color.

Thanks

Wow thanks for all the compliments!

Thanks, I use two part to maintain calcium and alkalinity. I also use a few Zeo products namely Coral Vitalizer, Amino Acid Concentrate, and Pohl’s Xtra.

Here is my Radion schedule. It is a little brighter than what I’ve read a lot of people use, so if you decide to try it make sure to use acclimation mode!

Those are both pieces from Reef Raft. The names are The Vinh and Starry Sky.

I really don't have any sand sifting critters except a couple nassarius snails. The sandbed does get moved around during high flow periods throughout the day and I think that's what helps the most. I also siphon the surface during water changes.

I always planned to run a two part dosing system, but your system convinced me to add Zeo Coral Vitalizer and Pohl’s Xtra. to the mix.

Thanks everybody!

Do you put all anthias in one time? Or add on a certain period?

I added the trio of Lyretail Anthias first which was a mistake. When I realized that I liked anthias and wanted more, I learned that the Lyretails would pose an aggression problem if I added a small number so I added 8 peaceful, but hardy anthias at once. Occasionally the Lyretails would chase an individual into hiding, but the larger group swimming in the open would give them the confidence to come right back out. I've had poor luck with anthias that go into hiding and just keeping them out in the water column seems to be important in getting them to thrive.

The paint color is Mercer Blue EB32-2

Do you run some sort of phosphate control. If you do what type and how ofter do you change the gfo.

Not really.. When levels do creep up on me, I do occasionally run GFO passively in a media bag sitting in the sump and pull it after a couple weeks. I don't run anything full time specifically for phosphates (except the biopellets).

Off subject but I have been looking for your living room light fixture. Where did you get it from?

I don't recall but I think I dug up the product code or name for someone earlier in the thread.

Hello,

I've had my male for about a year and a half. I feed between 3x and 5x per day depending on how busy I am. I have a pretty long list of foods, but the staples are SA pellets, Nutramar Ova, Cyclop-eeze, and Hikari Mysis. For anthias, "being male" takes a lot of extra energy. Males will lose their luster without the presence of females, so if he's alone that might be what's wrong. I've seen lone males revert to an orange or copper shade and lose some of the ornamental fin flare. If there are females present, I would look to diet as the culprit.

I've seen a lot of tanks and this is by far the most outstanding example of perfection. The aquascape is perfect. The colors are phenomenal. Everything is kept immaculately clean. It's an inspiration and at the same time depressing to look at because no matter what I do, I will never have a tank that rivals this one. Well done Chris.

Jaw dropping macro pictures too.
