Long long ago in a land far far away...(Colorado)
Our story begins with a 75 Gallon tank that my wife had before we were married... Once married said 75 Gallon tank moved in with her fairly successfully and we were able to maintain this sumpless and uber ghetto fabulous tank for quite some time. Usually it looked pretty nice until October of 08 and the danged thing sprung a leak. A quick trip to the store to purchase another tank and a hurried move did not prove to be a good thing... To make matters worse we had the worse Aiptasia explosion in history shortly thereafter. You would think we just had an aiptasia tank - it looked like a dead reef and was quite depressing. At this time we decided we wanted hardwood flooring, and that we still wanted to have a tank and instead of trying to move the livestock etc... and kill it off further while putting in the floors, we decided to upgrade. We found an amazing deal on a new front view 150 gallon Acrylic tank it originally retailed for $1200 we picked it up for $400.. this got the ball rolling. We decided to start knocking out walls and putting new ones in. The 25 Gallon Sump is in the basement and so far is working out great.
