So after watching the LED market just explode in the last year I finally purchased a multichip led system I think I will be happy with I went with a Kessil a350W x2 to replace my ATI 8X54 system. I have been watching kessil for a while now and the look of them and the functionality meet my needs was looking at Radions but a little to complicated for me and they would over do for my application. Any body have any input on the Kessils?

I've seen several of Unique Corals display tanks set up with them. And they are using the Kessil for their travelling frag tank. They seem like good little lights.

I might be getting one to light a dim corner of my tank.

Thanks appreciate it I am looking foreword to them the only down side I see is that they are not able to be added to a controller or dawn/dusk application's.

Kessils are Great! Ive heard from certain LFS owners that they die out and Ive heard that they work miralces from others.
I own one now and all I can say is that they are simple, beautiful and a space saver!

I have the a150w ocean blue and I am thinking of getting a couple more for another tank.

Hey Steven,

I have a Kessil 350W and I do like it a lot, it will be very different than your T5s and I would acclimate your corals slowly to the new lighting they can be intense at 100% on both channels (burned up my hammer pretty good, but it recovered).

So far i have very good growth and color on any LPS and Zoa that grows under it. As for SPS (specifically acropora) i have some that grow very well under the light and need no acclimation time and others that seem to need more time to adjust to the light. I have also noticed some color shifting in certain SPS, i have had 2 blue montis turn green but as they are now growing the new growth is now more blue again. I have no idea if this is due to the LED lighting or the kessil specifically (if due to the light at all).

For me the lack of dawn dusk settings is a bit of a pain as I do like having a dusk setting. I do turn the lights down once in a while because the blues pop like crazy on this light.

I'd love to see your setup and hear your thoughts with two lights over your tank...what species do you normally keep?
