It' my first time culturing phytoplankton and I was wondering if Christmas light could work as a light source.

The light source needs to have the correct spectrum of light to provide energy for the plankton to live and multiply. I don’t know if your lights are going to provide that. It would be festive but probably not productive imo, but get a par meter and evaluate the results. HTH

I culture 8 gallons/ week using an old grow light (burple they call the color) but much success with blue led lights, but green lights don't work.
