Christmas Tree Worms

IMG_1676.JPG

I believe Im at a peak of about 200 par on this. Med high flow pretty laminar actually 4-6 cm per second prob. The backside is starting to encrust already. Its in a 30g, so it kinda eats with the fish. I feed frozen and rotate the diet and don't strain foods. I have a ton of little mouths like this so i feed little foods, rotifers, nutramar ova.

Curious...I wonder if they do better in "dirty" water or "clean"? Any thoughts out there?
where they're from is clean, bright(but grow at different depths, fast water. But lots of plankton. ESP and night, IMO its a challenge in an aquarium. That's why I went there as soon as I saw it.

I feed different types of frozen. I like to feed about 4 different frozen foods. Like rods lrs. And other brands they carry at lfs. I would also feed roe and oyster feast. I had allot of different type of coral and fish in that tank. About once a week I would feed reef roids and use elos pro skimmer

Yea, i go heavy on the plankton every 4 days or so and leave the skimmer off for a day. Seems to do the job.

It's been years since I had mine. I think this thread has re-inpired me. My lfs always gets them. Not ever as nice as some of the ones you guys have posted though.

Thanks. Mine was total luck.
Thanks. I wonder whether the number of turns of each worm's body tells its age?. I saw some do have a four or five turns and really looks like a tree. Mine the most is two turns :D
hmmm... I dont know. There must be SOME good writing online ...

I've read about a dozen or so articles, they all have just about the same information. Unfortunately I haven't seen any that talk about determining age.

I am glade to see that these worms are gaining popularity, which means they will have a better chance of higher survival rates. I learned about them from a show my son used to watch called octonauts

My kids will watch that and then run over the tank to check it out.

Any on-line places to go to look for one of these rocks??

I recently got my new 1 from uniquecorals.com. they only come around once in a while and then not again for a little while. If you do seek them out, try to find an Australian species. They generally have larger crowns to the worms and better colors from my experience.
