Chromis. Peaceful or aggressive?

I searched online and asked a few lfs if blue green chromis are peaceful or not. All of them said yes as well as the internet.

In my surprise as I bought 5 green chromis so they would feel safe rather than buying 2 at a time, they bullied and killed 2 other green chromis and the 3 left are peaceful now with each other.

This happened by the way in my 5g qt tank.

In my own experience, that kind of aggression is from lack of space. This can happen with the most peaceful of fish.

Chromis are peaceful fish except to their own kind. That usually happens as they bully the weakest until they die and your number dwindles down...
