Chromis w/ mouth stuck open

This chromis was fine this morning. Then saw it swimming with mouth open wide. I caught him and push it closed but it pops back open. Anyone see this and know whats going on? Nothing new or diferent to tank in weeks. No maintenance done yet either.

Wow. That's pretty weird. I've only seen that in pictures or on dead fish. I'll leave this one to @Humblefish
 
I've seen this happen due to physical trauma or a the fish comes into contact with a stinging coral (sometimes bites it). I'm sure there are other possible ways it can happen as well, like if the fish were to get a pebble or piece of food stuck inside it's mouth. o_O

It will either self correct or the fish will die; not much you can do.

That's pretty strange, glad it's OK!
 
Saw mine like this this morning… he’s eating, and looks like it is closed now, but occasionally seems to keep his mouth open longer than normal.
