Chrysogaster Clown fish

Very nice looking fish. The BTA also looks pretty. How long have you had them?

Thanks Cameron... I got them last week it's a pair Mauritius Chrysogaster j Clown. The Nems Bta. But I have red base Ritteri anemone from Africa for them.

esongt, do you have any additional pictures? it appears you have Amphiprion allardi and not chrysogaster. Allardi are often mislabeled as chrysogaster, particularly on African shipments but they come from completely different locations. The price would also be noticeably, if not painfully, higher for chrysogasters....

I check already and the marking is exactly chryso. With tail band and white edge marking. And the person sold it to me his invoice is chrysogaster. Allardi doesn't have a tail band and yellow and black marking from its tail is lighter my is solid. And I collect only hi end clown I'm not into signature clown. I have McCullochi, white Cap, latz. So I think I know what I'm looking for before i share it.

FWIW African Allardi Clowns:

I don't think those are chrysogaster's but I don't claim to be an expert on clown IDs either so... I wouldn't trust an invoice, they get it wrong all the time.

joshky, youre right. those are distinctly juvenile allardi. this is how they look when they arrive in our fish stores. rarely do i ever see adults, which lack the tail stripe (but have solid white tails).

esongt, its certainly possible you have a chrysogaster. however, you will actually see on the invoice chrysogaster AND allardi...but the same species of fish will arrive. to my knowledge, chrysogaster only come from one collector on mauritius. i usually see allardi and mislabeled chrysogaster on kenyan shipments. here is a picture of my chrysogaster juvenile for reference:

I agree ... But u can tell that allardi clown tail band is not complete and the chryso is all the way. I post a better picture when I have a chance to shoot more picture. Thanks for the info.
