I just took a sample of algae to a guy and he identified my algae I can’t get rid of as chrysophytes . I was wondering the best way to get rid of it is . Also what would Cause of them

Do you use tap water? If not, what is the TDS of the water? Do you have any silica removers?

Despite the relatively specific name, you really have barely supplied any information on how to help. What does it look like in your tank? What is the extent of it? What have you tried? What are your water parameters? How old is your tank? What does your filtration look like?

Also worth mentioning: a google of chrysophytes says that it's a group of brown algae that are mostly found in freshwater... so I guess that adds the question 'are you sure the ID is correct?' to the list.

I've seen marine chrysophytes before. It looks like a golden, fuzzy, almost cotton like algae.

Sorry for no details my tank is over a year old now and have had this algae for over 6 months now . The first time I got it I pulled all rock and scrubbed them with h202 and it seemed to help but came back . I have sps glued to the rocks now and don’t want to try and pull them off to scrub rocks if I don’t have too .
Alk 7.5

Po4 0

I have been dosing po4 and no3 too try and keep them up but my po4 goes really fast when I dose it . I have slowed my water changes down to only 5 gallons a week just to clean algae off rock work my system is around 125g . I only have 3 small fish in the system but I have more fish I just got but there is qt right now .

I think like said above ppl call it golden algae

I think they are silica based, so it might be handy to check if your source water is high in it.

I've also only ever seen these pop up in uln tanks, but that might just be a coincidence since I rarely see this algae.
