So I have an 'established' tank that's been up for about 2 years. I was battling a combined outbreak of aiptasia and hair algae when I got hit with an outbreak of velvet as well. I ended up removing all the fish from my tank to treat them. Since I had to completely remove all the rock work to get the fish out anyway, I decided to bleach and re-cure about ¾ of my rock to try and get ahead of the other pests. The rock is now curing, hopefully done soon but I've started getting a tan/beige fuzz growing on everything. I vacuumed up a bunch the other day off the sand bed when I did a water change and cleaned off the rocks and corals the best I could but I'm not sure what I'm dealing with. Is it chrysophytes?

Hard to say. Can you get a larger image?

Are you curing the rock with the coral or is that a different setup? Slightly confused there. Any new equipment or carbon dosing?

See if this pic is any better. The fuzz is growing on pretty much every non-living surface in the tank - walls, gravel, rocks, etc. Definitely slimy to the touch. Never had Dinos, but doesn't have the 'snotty' appearance that people classically use to describe Dinos. I've vacuumed up the surface of the gravel and scraped off the walls, but it seems to grow back in reasonably short order.

Sorry if I wasn't clear - the rock is being cured in a separate tub. I ended up leaving about 20% of the original rock in the tank and removing the rest to clean/re-cure it.

No other new equipment - I have a skimmer and a GFO reactor.
