Can you guys five me some advice on how to give this guy the very best care please? I can't find a lot of information online other than they eat algae. I got him for free at a lfs since they never sold him and he got pretty beat up. So, I'm attempting to bring him back to health for the most part and make a good fish out of him.

Bump for the Angel hobbyist.

The fish looks a little rough, does the fish exhibit a dusty coating?

No he doesn't have any parasites and I'm hoping he doesn't get the ich I'm battling. Should be fine. They said some fish beat him up pretty badly. His dorsal fin won't even grow all the way back

I hope you did not put an already stressed fish into a tank with ICH.....just sayin, not a good scenario.

I keep a 250g tank with mostly large angels, emperator, queen, blue face, french, majestic, koran, passer and singapore.

Angels need good quality water and lot's of nori to be healthy, mine eat a wide variety of foods, although I don't have a Chrysurus currently, I would almost certainly think it is very similar to most large angel fish.
The key factor for you now is to make sure it is eating and has no bullies and NO ICH.

I'm keeping a close eye. I know it would be the worst thing for him but it seems like the ich is about to be done. No visible spots, been treating for a while. Otherwise he's establishing territory and eating some. He's doing a bit of the bullying and took my raccoon butterfly's sleeping spot already smh

Can you tell me some of the foods you feed please?

There are particles in the water, not white spots. Some good photos of his body so far :)

I'm not judging you and for what it's worth, the fish looks no worse for wear, I'm glad you rescued it!

I feed formula 1 & 2 pellets, medium size, sinking pellets, new life spectrum, medium, sinking, pellets, tetra freeze dried jumbo krill [they love it], tetra marine flakes for small feeding days along with frozen plankton, mysis & spirulina brine shrimp. Once a week I feed them formula 1,2 and very high protein gel squares [kept frozen] and always 4 or 5 clips of nori, which get consumed lickety split....the pigs. They eat better than I do.

Yes I see Lateral Line Disease,

^ Above advise is solid. You need to offer different fortified foods and a variety.

I have bloodworms seaweed and algae max for now. He's eating the worms and max a good amount. I'll get him more variety soon
