Cigarette smoke

I have no real reason for asking, just something I've wondered about on occasion...Does cigarette smoke have any effect on a reef tank? Mods, if this is not the right place to post this, please move it...Thanks...
 
While I have not seen specific data showing a side by side comparison, I expect that quite a bit of the smoke ends up getting into the water (such as by a skimmer). I'm not sure what the effects will be, but folks have seen effects from air fresheners so I wouldn't be surprised if there was some from the smoke.

FWIW, granular activated carbon would be a good way to remove many of the smoke components once in the water.
 
Randy, thanks for the reply...Lately, I'm getting more interested in what's going on in my tank and have learned a lot from you...
