Cinnamon Clown Fish (Amphiprion melanopus)

I recently bought a nice pair of Cinnamon Stripe-less Clowns for a 180 gallon mixed reef tank. Currently in QT and doing very well. Gorgeous fish btw, My concern is after doing additional research, it seems these guys tend to be very aggressive. My tank concept has been to be a peaceful tank, as much as possible. I'm thinking I made an error and should not put them in the DT. Current tank residents are 2 firefish, 2 PJ cardinals, 1 Bangingi Cardinal, 1 blue cromis and a Diamond watchman gob.

Love to get some opinions.

Yea I believe they are like a tomato clown. Tomato clowns are very relentless. The only clowns that aren't usually bad are different species of ocelerius and I think the precula

I've had a pair of cinnamon clowns for years. They are very large and they don't bother anyone. Maroons are far more aggressive ime.

They are territorial, they may run fish out of their little corner but they are not malicious. They don't attack, they just run them out and go back. The fish learn to stay out of their little area and everyone lives together peacefully.

It may also depend on the types of other fish you have with them. I have a pair in a FOWLR. They hate certain fish in that tank, and will often chase and bite them across the entire 8' length. But they'll leave everyone else alone. However, if they start spawning, then all bets are off! Good luck... I agree, gorgeous fish.

I had a buddy that had one and that thing was the meanest fish I have ever seen. We called it the piranha. Took it of his display and put it in his sump for a will and if you would reach of the sump to adjust something It would jump up out of the water to get to you. If you put you hand in there it was like a K-9 attacking just did not give up and any fish you put with it, it would not even second guess it the moment it was in the tank it was game over. Not saying they are all like that fish are like dogs don't matter what breed it is it can be both ways. Maybe put a fish with it an the QT and watch and see how they re-act first before the display.

My tomatoe clown bites me all the time and as you can see she has teeth! My female GSM is way way meaner. She wont even let me take a pic! She kicks up sand all over the place every time i try.
