Here's the article I used to figure it out:

And I'm going to review it and see if I can get a real answer before the crowd chimes in? The race it on!

250 gallons = 946 liters Active dose is 0.125mg/ liter

946 liters x 0.125mg/ liter = 118.25 mg.

250/115.25 ~1/2 pill/ treatment.

So Dissolve one 250mg pill in a cup of water. Add 1/2 cup of that water to treat the first time, and put the remainder in a small sealed container that you wrap the outside in tin foil (reallY) because the ciprio is light sensitive. Add the 1/2 cup for the second day treament .
on day 3 make another cup of water = 250 mg pill, dissolve and add 1/2. Throw the rest away.

"(I repeated this dose every 2 days for 3 doses altogether.)"

You need 1.5 pills to treat your tank.

recently have lps receding/dying and sps stn, friends recommended cipro but they have not done it before. Any success? Bombing the whole tank safe for fish, inverts and corals? Thanks

I think Kris gives good helpful info here and probably a good guide to follow.

I am also going to chime in and say I have used Cipro on many tanks and in many different dosage levels and have never seen an issue from dosing too much. In my ~250g system I just dissolve a 500mg tablet and pour it in. In my approximate 100g system....I do the same exact thing.

Again it's not a suggestion to do it that way it's always best to use the least amount that gets the job done. I point it out just to say that in my experience don't stress too much about possibly using too much.

So I am new to this, no loss of any livestocks? How long I need to dose or just one dose?

I have used it many times on either my own tank or customers tank and no noticeable negative impact in the slightest extent. I generally dose to tank after lights go out for 3-5 days. Other times I just do 12 hour baths of Cipro and amoxicillin on impacted coral(usually do this on transhipped coral that comes in sick).

Having said that there are countless things that could happen that maybe I don't know yet after a couple years of using it as often as I felt it was warranted. Maybe it's building up some toxic compound that kills everything 5 years later? Maybe it contributes to bacteria becoming immune to the treatment because I have used it multiple instances on one of my systems?

I'm not counting on any of that happening but making clear I am also not acting like I can speak definitively it is 100% safe. Over 25 years in the hobby though I have had massive bjd outbreaks decimate my lps multiple times (never sense using Cipro at the first signs). Any possible unknown future risk from the Cipro use is worth it to me if it keeps stopping bacterial issues in their tracks.

Great. How much to dose for a 120g?

120 gallons is approx 455 liters.

0.125mg/l x 455l = 56.875mg/treatment.

If you have 250mg(?) pills, dissolve one in a cup of water and you have 4 treatments of 1/4 cup each. As @mdb_talon noted he (and I) have used much stronger doses than the effective dose reported (0.125mg/l )

I think the pills come 250 and 500mg doses.

Edit: I also never noted any adverse impacts from using cipro on fish, corals, reef tanks. It does cleanup sick lps and I would not hesitate to treat. Waiting allows the disease to grow and kill, cipro kills the disease and saves coral lives.

Perfect thanks for your help
I am getting ready to treat a coral and I have the Cipro but I couldn't remember the amount needed. I searched on here for Cipro dose and came back for a memory refresher. Thanks full circle!
