In general, if you know the ppm or mg/l you need to dose, the formula is: tank volume in gallons * ppm / 264 = grams of medication.
However, things get complicated. Your tank volume needs to include the volume of your sump, but also you need to subtract the displacement of the tank decorations, you need the net volume. Then, it needs to be determined if your dose is weighed in grams of the pill itself, or grams on active cipro. Pills contain excipients and binders, so the active ingredient is less than the weight of the pill. Some pills are extended release and some have film coatings.
