Circulation pump placement

I have a 40g breeder reef tank with soft corals and would like to add some LPS at some point. How should I place two circulation pumps? I currently have them on opposite sides of the tank offset. (One in each opposite corner diagonally). I've seen some set ups where they are directly across, but that doesn't make sense to me? My pumps aren't controlled at the moment but I am going to switch to two controlled pumps so what would be the best placement?

Let's see a pic, maybe draw on it where you want to put the pumps and why. Or where you want the corals to be in the tank.
