I have a 90 gal which I’m using for a reef, I purchased a 1500 GPH Hydor Koralia. Do I need two? Or will one suffice

If you plan on corals, what type (soft, LPS, SPS). This will drive the amount of flow you need. Aquascaping can also influence the number of powerbeads as well as placement.

Soft corals first, then sticks:)

You might get by with the single powerhead for the soft corals, but may need another one when you add the sticks. The rule of thumb is 20-40 times tank volume in flow. you are about 17 times so on the low end. The trick is getting good flow for the sticks but not blasting the soft corals. I would try the pump above the top 1/2 of the tank and the soft corals in the bottom half/quarter of the tank. Also if you need more powerheads, you might try a higher number of lower flow so you can direct them to avoid dead spots in the tank.

Good idea! Yeah I think I’m good with the one pump for now, it will be a while before sticks. I say that now, but will probably buy another lower GPH Koralia for the tank
