I have two Hydor Koralia Nano Aquarium Circulation Pump, 425 GPHs in my tank. I also have two clown fish. How do I know if the current they create is too strong for them? Is there any way to change the rate of flow on them? Lastly, is it ok to always leave them running, besides feeding time (thinking specifically of effects on the fish)?

No way to turn them down, they put out what they put out. I had the 1400's in my 90, two of them and I needed more. If the fish are constantly fighting the current, then it's too much. And I mean fighting, not just swimming gradually to keep in one place, that is what they need and love. And I turn everything but my return pump off at night so they can rest while the lights are off. I'm running DC pumps though so I have a dusk/dawn mode for when the lights are just turning on and just turning off where it slows the wave action down to only 30%. During the day I have them oscillating at 50% and if my Storm mode kicks on, it kicks them up to 60%. These are the Jebao PP15's though which are too large for my tank hence why I run them at a reduced setting. You never mentioned your tank size, but I'm guessing something like the PP4's would do good in your tank. Just a guess though.

IME, it is difficult to have too much flow for your fish. FWIW - I use 2 x Gyre 250's in my 120DT and when they are ramped up you'd think it would blow the fish right out of the tank. Instead, they seem to surf in it instead.

I remember listening to a talk about flow and the speaker said that unless the clownfish are pressed up on the glass then they can handle it lol. You will have issues with the sand blowing around and upsetting soft/LPS coral before you bother the fish.

What kind of lights are you using?
Mine is a 32g tank.
When they are running, they have to fight pretty hard. So I may consider going a step down. But there are places where there is not such powerful current.
Here are two links to videos of them. The one video that is 10 minutes long is with the power head on the left hand side running. The one that is 5 minutes has them both running.
