Okay. So I've had my tank for a little bit and have had some issues with circulation. I just ordered 2 more powerheads because my other one died suddenly. Is there any specific configuration that I should have in my tank to get the best circulation?

My powerhead are all 800 GPH and my tank is a 55G typical tank, bought it from Petsmart a while ago.

Any tips are helpful.

Unfortunately there is no set placements for powerheads. It is largely dependent upon the rock setup, substrate, placement of coral, etc. Maybe post a picture of the tank and we will be able to help?

Have you thought about a Maxspect Gyre?
That might help you get some much wider flow through the tank with less powerheads.
Depending on your rock work as stated above.

I've always had the best luck by placing power heads up top at opposite ends of the tank facing each other. I get quite a bit of surface agitation this way and the middle of the tank will have some of the most chaotic currents. These will disperse as they move towards the outskirts of the tank. Also, some of these pumps are attached to a swivel. The flow can easily be manipulated in the tank by simply maneuvering the pumps up or down, to the left or the right a few inches.
If you've got your hands in the tank once every week or so it might be a good idea to switch things up a little. GL.
