calling all with electrical advice i woke up this morning and my basment was silent witch any one thats been here knows my tank makes some noise lol well i woke up my step dad because he has done a bit of electrical himself and he told me most likly i fried the breaker so he went and bought a new one and we replaced it and still no power to my tank or tank room so we started checking the line on the circut and came to the con clusion it has to be the outlet so we pulled the first outlet in the line and disconected it and tested the wires with the circut turned back on and we got power well we reattached the new socket and once again turned the power on and tested and everything tested to be correct with power running well i tried to plug the tank back in and no power so we found a different tester and tried it and theres no power running through the line this bothers me and my step dad both very much because if an outlet did fry the circut breaker should have switched off but it was in the on position this morning and as we all know this could have turned to a house fire but thank god it didnt i just have no idea what to do im loosing my mind and needed to vent because we called it quits on it today well at least my step dad did and im running extension cords from seprate circuts in the house to keep the main dt pumps lights and heaters going gotta find one more to get the skimmer online. this is just the last thing i need i work for almost the next 2 weeks straight and already didnt have time for my tank as it is and now im looking at maybe having to disassemble everything in my system and drain all the tanks and find place to store it and work on everything and to top it all off i had just spent a 100 bucks on different sps frags and theve been doing great ive been waiting 3 years to try and now i might loose them because of this. urggggggggg sorry for the long post but like stated im upset about this and at my wits end

Sounds like a loose/poor connection to me. Checks out OK until you apply a load, then it draws down the voltage until there is not enough voltage to run the load. Do you have the ability to monitor the voltage when you plug different devices into the outlet? It could be a bad breaker, bad wire in the wall, poor connections to the outlet, poor connection to the breaker, or other problems. HTH. If you're really stuck, I might be able to drive down and help, but if your step dad is an electrician, he should be able to find the problem.

well u push in the wires on the back and tighten the screws on the side and i think it might just be a wire in the wrong spot but im still unsure but i wil try some more tomorrow lol but hopefully it works out
