Cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis fin infection

my newest acquisition has developed what looks like a fugal or bacterial infection in the dorsal fin, it is currently sitting in an acclimation box so I have easy access to treat it. I have furan-2 by API for other uses but it seems like it could work.

Thoughts before I treat or how and with what I should?

I would treat this as bacterial. I'd start with furan, metro, and kanaplex. IME when similar symptoms presented, the condition was pretty aggressive.
Nitrofuracin would also work if you have it.

+1 on all the suggestions above. Another alternative, depending on what is available in your area, for skin/fin type infections is Sulfaplex + Neoplex

Through some research I found that NFG is nitrofurazone (furan2) and methyl blue, full dosage of the nitro and a half dosage of methyl blue.

Would it be bad to do NFG and sulfaplex+neoplex?

I’ve had that type of infection in a watanabei angel and was never able to turn it around. It was non infectious, but ultimately caused the demise of the fish, since it kept getting deeper and also spread to the gills.
