Citric acid… universal cleaner?

So I’ve been keeping corals for a little bit now and need to clean my Nero soon, and came across citric acid. So questions are:

1) can I use it on more than my powerhead? Like siphons, skimmer, return pump, heater (titanium), plastic target feeders, etc.

2) after use should I rinse the equipment off?

3) fine to use with rodi?

Following this too. I think it's safe for all but would rinse with RODI or used tank water from water change.
