Cladophoropsis??

Did you you ever win the battle against this terrible alage? I know it’s been years??...

Reigniting this thread...I had this algae along with Bryopsis and treated with flux rx. Killed both off, or so I thought. I've just noticed a few strands of this reappearing a few months down the line any suggestions would be immense

I fought cladophoropsis on some rock I bought. Algaefix marine algaecide didn’t work, even at like 10x dosage. I found targeted H2O2 was a great approach to knock it back. Syringe attached to baby bottle nipple, kill the flow for 5 mins and leave it there to work its magic like 5-10 ml at a time. See here:

And my emerald crab (a good sized one from reef cleaners) loved to eat it. I also think my turbo snails eat it, since it now only grows in my overflow where they can’t reach it. And that workhorse emerald has died, sadly, but the display is not overrun. I’m no longer scared of this algae. It’s worse than Derbesia, similar in scariness to Bryopsis. I wouldn’t tear down a tank to kill it. At least not before trying a bunch of emeralds and turbos and H2O2 spot treatments. Good luck reefers!

Ok you guys are scaring me. I see what looks like this stuff. Now I put some Cheto in my sump not long ago and was wondering if some might of ended in my tank but to be honest it looks more like what you are talking about. I have a very small nano tank and I have no real way of preserving my coral. I thought at first it might be bryopsis so I bought some reef flux. I'm still going to give it a try. I'll let you know what happens.

I got this as well and have it growing everywhere including the sand. It's translucent and tubular. I also have GHA that I'm going to try and get at with Flux Rx and see what happens...

I have this persistent and apparently very hard to kill algae. Several minutes of 3% hydrogen peroxide knocks it back significantly but it eventually comes back. And I can't realistically treat 75 lbs of live rock, loaded with coral with peroxide. Has anyone dealt with this nightmare? I'm about to tear down the tank, frag everything and start over with fresh rock but if there's an alternative option, I'd like to try that first. I added 3 emerald crabs into my 75g tank today in hopes of them helping.

I know this post is super old but I have the same problem in my tank. Did you beat it?
