Too funny, I posted about replacing the motor yesterday too. I used the greartisan five rpm motor for fifteen bucks. It’s just a smidge too long to fit back in the housing but I made it work. I’m guessing since this is a thing verse that it’s an housing end cap to fit over the end of the motor? I can’t see to look at it. Can you describe what it is to me? I’d be interested if I could find someone to print it for me. I had several spare housings and just cut two quarter inch pieces off a spare, using one piece inside as a locator and the other as an extension and glueing it all back together. Got tired of the seventy five buck motor every eighteen months!Since its almost impossible to get a replacement motor, make your own replacement for 15 bucks. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5754928
Its the motor housing and crucible that goes into the windup core. Using the same brand motor but 20rpm.Too funny, I posted about replacing the motor yesterday too. Nice. How does the crucible hold up without the shaft being drilled and tapped? Or did you drill and tap the gearshaft for a through bolt? I drilled and tapped mine as I have broken screws and rounded out the crucible several times in the past, before they updated to the new crucible and through bolt. Its the motor housing and crucible that goes into the windup core.
