Clam gaping

I guess time will tell.

Whatever you want to call it, I would keep an eye on it. A clam that stretches it's self so much that the mouth wants to tear is not good. This can sometimes mean that it wants more light. It can also mean that it is on the way out. This is incredibly weird if it has been growing lately, so I have no good suggestions. In any case, watch it closely.

Here we are today. The incurrent siphon is about back to normal, but it still isn't very reactant to light.

Mine does this when I put yummy food into the tank. They will open their mouths fully till you can see inside. When the feeding is done they return to normal.

Gaping is general term for the clams mantle retracting in a wide open valve with little to no reaction. Often confused with an open incurrent siphon. I disagree with you as I've had plenty of experience with clams. There is no reason to believe his clam is going to start gaping. Also, gaping means certain death for tridacna.
I agree with @DSC reef here. The picture he posted is extreme gaping/essentially dead. The OP clam is not gaping. Wide open incurrent siphon is only part of gaping, the other part is retraction of the mantle. The open siphon is due to retract on of the mantle. This is an example of a not as bad gaping
