Hello I have had a hitchhiker on my snails shell for some time now. It’s been gettin bigger it started out you can barely notice it months ago. 6 months later it’s the fill size of the snails shell. But what is it ? I know it must be a type of mollusk. Here are pics.

Following. Definitely some kind of mollusk. Wonder how it likes the upward mobility.

Seems to like it honestly, went from being tiny barely even noticeable to that in 6 months. I’m gettin nervous as to when he gets to big for the snail. It’s very strange to cause he seems to blend perfectly to the snail shell. When he closes you can’t see where the shell begins or ends it’s flawless blend.

I was going to say that your mollusk is likely to outlive the snail and get awfully heavy, but I have a couple of turbos in my 125 that have been around for a long time and are HUGE!

I think it is one of the oysters. What species? unlikely that we will find out. Is it still living. From the look of the semi-open shell I would think that it is an empty shell. On the other hand, you said that he is growing. It is hard to have enough food in our tank for filter feeders like these.
