I have been broadcasting phyto every couple of days. The clam attached and hasn’t moved from where I put him here are some updated pics.Add some phyto every other day to the tank. Helps to feed them even though most say no feeding is necessary, however, there is plankton in the ocean that they filter! Won't hurt!
He's looking quite happy! Many don't agree with the phyto but at one time I had (30) clams between our (2) tanks. Back then, I dosed DT's Phyto and I had all of them ranging from 6 months to 4 1/2 yrs. Lost them all but (1) Blue Squamosa to what I call the clam plague - one each day until (29) were gone. No idea what happened! My thought is that if they're filtering plankton in the ocean, can't hurt putting some in the tank for them, pods or other filter feeders you may have.I have been broadcasting phyto every couple of days. It was devastating! Especially not to know why! My lone survivor was the blue squamosa. He actually attached to some rockwork I had placed him on. A couple weeks later I accidentally knocked into him and sent him sailing. Guessing I damaged his bysal since he was gone a few days later.Wow. That must have been devastating. If I had to have all clams but one die, I would pick the blue squamie as the survivor 11 times out of 10.
