Clam ID

The intake is the larger of the two opening. I can't see much with the blue light. Can you either filter or take a picture with white light?
I turned the whites up and attached more photos. I’ve had the clam since 2018/2019 same tank

Just wanted to show the top down of my maxima in its new spot, still adjusting and opening though so it’s not much at all. The centre is very similar to the centre of the mimosa above, it’s stunning.

White photos @OrionN the white beam on left side is caused by turning the light towards the left side of tank when I cranked up the whites, I just noticed that. Clam didn’t like being hit with whites, the siphon definitely closed down.

I don't think blue light is what your clam needed. I would boost up the PAR. It looks like your clam is hyperexteded and reaching up for more light.

Okay, I’ve increased the whites and also increased par alittle. Now 210 without screen top. Come to think of it, I went more blue before this happened. Now it’s whiter than I’ve ever ran. Thank you for your input, much appreciated.

I’m now seeing gold which I haven’t seen before. Keeping an eye on it before I increase the par farther. Maybe the white spot will get better. Also sending in ICP test, it’s been awhile since I’ve done that.

I would say the clam needs more light than 100+ PAR. It will slowly starve when the light is insufficient, and one day it will "suddenly" die.
Noted. It has grown for years and from a small size @ 150 range. Still growing but I had changed my light to a bluer tone within the last month and the white spot showed up last week. Also I had raised it off the BB. It’s now 210. I’m keeping an eye on it before raising further. Adjusted flow also

Mimosa didn’t like bright light but I’ve put it back on the bottom of DT and it seems happier back to the left side again.

Did you clam owners QT your clams before putting into your DT? Concerned about bringing in fish disease on their shells, similar to frag plugs but they have more real estate to occupy.
