A few weeks ago I saw someone suggest this company as a good source. Since then I have followed them on instagram and have been very impressed with their videos and even watched a podcast they did with a clam researcher. However, I have sent several emails and questions via comments on their posts and have never once received a reply. I can certainly understand being short staffed as I owned my own (exotic plant/animal) company for over 20 years, however it seems that if you have time to post videos, sometimes several in one day, you would have at least a little time for customer relations. I still would really like to potentially buy from them but I’m getting more and more hesitant to do so if I can’t even get a reply before a purchase. What are you experiences with RECENT purchases or interactions?

Yea, I would love someone to shine some light on this. Their website has been “coming soon” for years. He makes posts every week on Facebook advertising his clams and links his website but nothing. Like what is even going on?

I'm following this thread and will give a breakdown of a breakdown of my experience with them on Thursday or Friday if I received my clam that I ordered and paid for almost a month ago.

Thanks for sharing this. It’s unfortunate because he seems to give the appearance of having some amazing animals.

I personally bought from them and happy with my clam. Always see him at coral farmers market. Nice person. And I would definitely recommend them as your clam source.

I've tried to contact him a few times, no responses, I did however get him to respond to a question during one of his Live sales on IG about local pick up, and he said it was available so that is kind of cool.

I ended up going with AquaSD, I'd rather pay a little more and be able to talk to a human when/if I have questions.

Someone I know finally did get his clam but it was in rough shape. Not at all what I would expect from someone who spends so much time posting incredible videos of beautiful clams. The ones I bought from Divers Den were in much better shape. I just don’t understand why there’s such an absence of communication- even when you have already made a purchase. The experiences shared in this thread are inexcusable and simply don’t happen with a viable vendor.

This! I don't care who you are or what business you operate, if your customer service sucks, you're not going to go that far. If the guy would spend more time caring for his customers and not posting videos, he wouldn't have to post all of those videos. Word of mouth would do everything for him. Is common sense a rare gene these days?

You would think the hard part of culturing Tridacna would be behind him and now just getting them out the door. The whole thing is bizarre

Yeah, if you spend all of your energy on social media, then you’re doing something wrong. I have no issues getting the word out with social media, but if that’s your only presence, that’s a red flag for me.

I had the same experience. Saw his posts, contacted him, wanting to buy clams, never responded, sent him an email, no response either. I am scratching my head thinking how can one run a business like that. I will stay away. Plenty of places to get clams.

I’m on my way home and dropped by the AquaSD - they had Crocea, Deresa, Hippopas - all looked healthy. I didn’t look at the prices because I’m trying to quit impulse spending.
I snapped a few pics, (sorry no clams)
