Hi everyone. Today when I came home my maxima clam that’s been in my system for 8 months was partially closed up. It was open a little but not nearly to what it usually is. I noticed it right away and say some hermit crabs near it. The weren’t picking at the clam or anything but definitely could of been bothering it. Wasn’t sure if this caused it to not open fully or if there was another possible answer.
My parameters are
Salt 1.026
Cal 425
Alk 8.0
Temp 78°
Ph 8.2

Have you checked for Pyramids?
Crabs and shrimp are attracted to dying clams.
Did you notice any PMD?

I’ve looked for pyramids when I first got the clam and have checked every time I’ve moved him. Didn’t notice any PMD but he did seem to open up more after I posted. Thinking something might have just annoyed him

Ok Good.

I had the same thing happen to my maxima about 2 weeks ago. I think he just got irritated by a snail or hermit but I was kind of worried. Next day he was back to normal and been fine ever since.

What is pyramids and pdm sorry my clams going through the same phase right now, so I’m curious but I’ve only had mine for about a week and my parameters are all **** I did move my clam thinking it didn’t like it’s spot being it detached it’s self
