Clam

In the more recent picture it appears sand is sitting upon the shell edge which leads me to think sand may have irritated the mantle. If possible, whilst keeping clam submerged, pick it up and turn upside down and give a light shake. Also look for air bubble being released at this time too. Then if possible get a 25mm pipe cut to half inch length and sit the calm on top ;)

A blue clam ...woooww they are beautiful I was about to buy one, just got to be careful with the NoPhox if you use any it will kill it.

We've used many forms of carbon dosing over the years from biopellets to nopox with growing tridacna, how does nopox specifically kill a clam? To the OP, nopox will not kill your clam, keep nutrients at zero from to much carbon dosing could cause issues with your clam.

Thankyou

Nopox if used correctly will not kill your clam. You don't want to bottom out your nutrients so start smaller than the recommended dose. I doubt it will do anything for bubble algae. Carbon dosing is typically used to reign in nutrients and keeping them low. You don't want zero nutrients when keeping tridacna.
