I will be getting my first clam next week and was wondering if I could possibly drip/wipe h202 onto the shell of a clam (avoiding contact with any flesh) as an alternative to actually dipping the clam to prevent any hitchhikers?
If not, are there any other suggestions to remove pests such as the worms that feed off of clams??
Thanks in advanced!

If the clam is healthy at the place where you are buying it I would just use a toothbrush and brush off the entire shell. Look for pyramid snails since they are usually the biggest prey on them..
Skip the dip on the clam, too risky.

I actually just finished reading that post which is why I asked about the h202 since he discussed the possible bad hitchhikers.
yea I haven't found a full blown how to in clam dips either.
I so want another clam:D
