clams & asterina ** stars**

Wanted to know if asterina snail ( stars not snails!! oops!! )will hurt my new clam? I noticed 2 tonight on the shell of the clam. One is very close to the mantle at the top of the shell and the other is on the other half of the shell about half way up. The clam hasn't moved in 2 days so I hate to bother it by picking the snails off but if they are going to start to eat the clam then I will get them off until I can get a harlequin shrimp.

Thanks

Naw, they are just cleaning up the shell. You should be fine. Astreas are very good cleaners by the way.

I am sorry guys not astrea snails - asterina star fish! I just reread my post and I said snails but I meant stars. The little guys that will sometimes eat zoas.

They won't bother your clam... I'm waiting to see a pic of this thing... :D

Randy!! Where you been bro??? Thanks I hoped not - I still think I will get a harlequin shrimp to take care of those little buggers. Especially since they won't steal food from my lps like those other pesky shrimp!!

I'm around, been busy with school and work and Ashley... I was hoping to see a pic of that clam since you were talking about it the other day... :)
