Clams from Algae Barn?

I purchased a mimosa, very blue with tan along edges. The photo showed teal in the center. Depending on where you set the light spectrum it has teal or not. It did match the photo from PEA, took a week to start looking better. I actually contacted them as soon as it arrived since it wasn’t looking too well. Now it’s definitely a keeper.

Easier to justify having 3 clams to my mom when they all look very different

Lol love it

I heard someone say reef keeping is like being a Pokémon trainer, gotta catch em all
It’s true... look at my 20 gallon. I’ve got
77 corals in my 20 gallon (counting nems), 69 in my 25 gallon, and 48 in my 40 gallon. That’s almost 200 different corals in 85 gallons of water. I must be a Pokémon master!

Question: So people say clams under three inches need phyto. Is that true? Because I’m wanting to buy the two inch clams and I was wondering if they do need phyto or if they can live off of lights and filtering what’s in the tank?

Nah you don’t need phyto. I got my maxima at 1”, no phyto. Under AI Prime HD

I’m thinking of ordering a clam this week or next week. This week temps are 60°-70° F next week they’ll be 40°-60° F
Should I order the clam this week or are the temperatures next week okay?
Also in a week or two I’m getting a twenty gallon and some extra live sand and moving all my critters over to that... will the clam be okay? Or should I wait on the clam?

If you’re gonna be making a bunch of changes really soon, wait on it. Clams like stability and good water quality :)

I just moved the tile these were on so they're a little closed up, both were bought as first grade colored. The brown one has slight coloration on the right of its mantle. They're temporarily in a frag tank while I clean up my display so i'm able to get decent top down photos.

Since this original picture the brown clam developed some color
