You got a clam dominated tank? I’m dying to see one….Pics pleaseWhat par level does everybody keep their Sand bed at at a heavily dominated clam tank? I keep mine at 350 par.
They can change color for a few reasons including age. Do you know what par its under? Typically for maxima, crocea, 300 would be minimum par.Can I assume that is the reason my Maxima is turning from blue to purple edged?
Never had one before. (3 months now) Its about 3 inches long. Approx four inches off the bottom of a 17 inch deep tank. Radian Led 68% intensity. No idea of the par. Accor's doing well at the topThey can change color for a few reasons including age. Do you know what par its under? Typically for maxima, crocea, 300 would be minimum par.
Clams look different from side view to top view. Looking from the top the colors are quite more vibrant.please pictures x 3
I have measured the PAR now with my light intensity at now 70% intensityThis explains everything to me why I had a hard time keeping maxima clams. The last two I had I placed on my sand bed. I just recently purchased a PAR meter and measured at my sand bed measured at 100 Par.
What type of clam do you have?I have measured the PAR now with my light intensity at now 70% intensity
390 PAR just under the water line, 200 PAR in the middle, and 85 PAR at the bottom
The PAR was 87 just above the clam and now its 123 PAR
I lowed my light down by approx. 6 inches. By lowing the light this increased the PAR. The light is now 8 inches above the water line.
I have 390 PAR at the top just under the water line, in the middle 200 and just above the clam 123 PAR the bottom is 85 PAR.
I understand that LPS do well with 75 to 150 PAR. SPS do well at 200 and 350.
So the calm may still need to be risen to the 200 PAR level.
