I'm sorry, he's lost; at this point there is nothing you can do. When clams go, they go.

That clam does not look happy at all. I don't know much about clams so I am not able to help much but I know the people who can are going to want to know a lot more info on your tank. How long has it been up and running? What are your water parameters. What type of lighting are you using? What other inhabitants (including fish shrimp and snails) are in the tank. I believe clams like high light and pretty good flow. There are a lot of predators that like to pick on clams so you have to be careful with other inhabitants. The tank also needs to be very stable. Cant really tell from the picture but that clam looks kinda small. I believe that anything under 3 inches needs supplemental feedings as well as the good light because the light wont be enough to supply its nutrition. Anyways I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news but that clam is rapidly on its way out, but I hope you can save it.

They require higher light levels than most corals – greater than 30,000 lux or around 600 PAR.

If you don't have a light meter, download a free lux meter app to your smartphone and take some readings of your light. Post the results.

Also post your water parameters – do a new round of tests if it's been a while. You can offer some perspective that way too....

Yeah, I think it looks like it's dead too. Clams on the whole I think can be hardy, but certain things have to be watched out for. If the clam was removed from a rock forcibly, tearing its foot, then it won't make it. Also pinched mantle disease can take a clam very quickly.

Looking at the growth on its shell, it kind of looks like it hasn't been happy for a while. You might have just bought a sick clam that couldn't handle the added stress of a new tank.

Mmmm very sad to hear that I'll try moving him to higher ground and I shall feed him a little extra but it doesn't sound good I do however appreciate the help anyway.
