Hello, few days before was a question on the forum about what kind of filtration we use in sump and i notice That very few people use this kind of flece filter. If i'm not wrong was about 3%. I use one Clarisea SK5000 for my 129g tank and i never use filter socks, i start my system with this filter from begin.
Now my question is why this type of this filter is not so popular? There is something wrong with it?? better and easy with the filter socks??
From my point of view i'm really happy with this filter, i don't need to clean, bleach socks, i change just change the roll each 4-5 weeks and that is. Looks effective also, catch small particle and my skimmer almost dosen't have nothing to skimm
I really wait for as many opinion ...:):)
Thank's!!

I think it’s because it is an expensive and still pretty new technology. Most people would rather spend $50 and have a couple filter socks they can change out once or twice a week. Not all sumps have room for these rollers either.

I was thinking also about the price but i see so many people with expensive tanks.... or big once. For sure this filter it's not reliable for smaller that 70g.

Admittedly I don't keep up with the latest and greatest gadgets but I believe the Clarisea was just recently made available in the US. I saw it for the first time in a Premium Aquatics email a couple weeks back and was intrigued but am waiting to see reviews/how it's installed before I consider adding one. The Theiling (sp?) roller mat has been available for some time but it looks way too bulky to attempt a retro fit into my system.
