Hey, hope everyone is staying safe out there!

Has anyone installed a ClariSea SK-5000 in a Reefer 525 sump? They claim that it will fit if you cut out the filter sock section, but I am curious if anyone has done that? If so, pics please!

If not, what fleece filter rollers work with the reefer 525 v3? Any 525 owners out there running a fleece filter roller?

Thanks for the thread! Do you know of anyone who has a thread on the installation aspect? I'm really trying to figure out how simple (or difficult) it might be to install this on my 525

I installed one on my V3 750 XXL sump. Not sure how different they are but i did have to remove the filter sock section. It’s all held in place by silicone so you just need to run something between the sections of glass which will cut the silicone and then you can remove it piece by piece. I used a razor blade but I imagine something like strong fishing line or thin guitar string would work well too.

Just completed installation of a clarisea 5000 on reefer 525 v3 sump.Had to remove sock section which was a bit of a chore. Results of running the clarisea are fantastic, much better than i could of imagined

debating if to do the same with my upcoming 525 build. Do you think it is worth all the trouble to install it instead of just running filter floss ?

Yea,im glad I've done it.the water quality is so much better and getting good life out of the roll. just cutting the sock chamber out was the hardest bit, with fingers taking a lot of cuts.Be patient is the key, it probably took an hour in total to
remove and done it 15 min utes at a time with a break each time

I managed to stuff one (SK-5000) into my RS-250. I'm sure it will work in the larger 525 sump.
