Hello all, we recently purchased a paired male and female for our tank, being fairly new to all this I would love some insight on their behaviour? They have settled in really well, and have chosen to host our anenome. The female is a little aggressive, not biting but charging at other fish, her and her partner are very protective about the anenome and the rocks around it and in the past day she has started kicking up sand around it. Can anyone tell me what she's doing?

That sounds like pretty normal behavior to me once they have established their territory they will go after whoever comes close enough to where they feel threatened.

The moving of the sand around is an indication that she's clearing a path to lay a clutch of eggs normally they do this by attached the eggs to live rock or some other hard substrate.

That's okay then, just wanted to make sure they're happy enough! Big mama started getting quite moody and wanted to make sure we hadn't done anything wrong!
