Has anyone seen a clarki and maroon clown mating? 2 month ago I had an ich crash in my 200 gallon and I was only able to save 4 fish out of 15. The four that has ich on it are in a 29 gallon tank being treaded with cupramine. The clarki and the maroon clowns has been next to each other every time. I have I small clay pot in the tank and both of them always in there. The maroon has been picking on the inner of the clay pot so is the clarki too. I was wondering is there any chance that they will be mating it pairing up? What you guys think??

Interesting! I am not sure? I am interested to know if they can breed together. I'm surprised they are not tearing each other apart!

Everyone told me not to quarintin them in the same tank or they will kill each other. I had only one small tank. Took a chance and now one go to eat the other guard the pot. They took turn go to eat. This is very odd. The maroon has been picking on the pot and dancing around that area a lot. Look like its going into shock when it does that.

wow! Have you tried looking up ORA and seeing if they have a mix like this? I wonder if they can breed but their offspring would be sterile like in Mules of tiger musky?

This is my 200 gallon tank. I had the ich crash about 2 month ago. I'm waiting just one more month to put some fish in. Can't wait.

This would be very interesting if it does happen. I was told the this two type of clowns are very aggressive and mean.

Wow!!! That is awesome! That deff looks like eggs, but it is weird they are outside, and not inside. Have you looked up breeders to see if this has been done. Or if they are viable? Do you see daddy taking care of them? Blowing water across them periodically? Who is dad and who is mom?

The clarki is the dad. The mom (maroon clown)is in the pot a lots and the dad is next to the eegs all the time. This hobby is new to me, I just started this 1 1/2 years. I have not learn how to breed clowns yet. I did talk to some of the LRS and I was told that this two ( clarki and maroon clowns) can not will not be mate, they will kill each other befor they kiss. lol. Yea I'm excited and it's awesome to see something like this.

This is very cool!! I'm happy for you! I hope they at least get free swimming for you! We have a 12+ year old mated Oscelaris pair and they lay eggs every few weeks. They last a few days to a week before they are all gone. I think they might eat them, or at least the mom does. Just keep an eye on them. The daddy takes care of them. He will blow water across them from time to time and protect them with his life. The mom always seems over it, but some stay vigual. You will notice to black eye dots in a few days of each of the babies. Make sure your filter intake has a sponge on it, so no babies get sucked up.

Thank you for the information. I will have to wait for next time when they lay eegs. I got a lot of learning to do on breeding them. Please if anyone have any suggestion please feel free to pm or post on here for everyone. Thanks everyone for the information. This is so awesome for me as a new to this hobby to see this. Thanks guys
