I have a Clarkii clown that just took to the BTA last night after ignoring it for a week or so. Now, he barely leaves the anemone, which is good, but he is very aggressive when he is in the anemone. I don't mean that he's being aggressive in a defensive manner, but he wallows and burrows very strongly into the anemone, so much so that the anemone is much smaller today than yesterday.

The anemone's tentacle tips are still inflated, but he has less water in his body, I guess.

Has anyone every seen anything like this? Is this just a normal part of the two bonding together?

Clarkii's are way too loving towards nems. I have seen them accidentally pull the tentacles off, and kill nems by giving too much love to it.
How large of a nem is it compared to the clarkii?

So, the Clarkii has calmed down considerably and actually slept in his waterbed anemone last night :)

I've also witnessed him feeding the anemone two nights in a row. It's pretty amazing to see two animals that probably didn't even come from the same ocean, let alone know one another, form such a natural and harmonious bond. I think this is the kind of thing that really makes reefing great :)

Here's a little pic :)

Awesome.. I'm glad it calmed down :) Love the picture.. Looks like the calrkii is saying "This here is my home... go find your own!"

i found that with Clarkii clowns multiple anemones works best. they're just so dang rough with the anemones...

Thank you very much :) I hope my BTA splits so that I'll have multiple anemones!

I have had Clarkii clowns in the past, but this one is definitely the coolest one with the pearl eyes and tail streamers ;)

What kind of BTA is that? Looks like a GBTA with orange tips. How is it doing these days?
