So before i got my clarkii he was with a mate at the lfs. Apparently they had a falling out and had to be separated. I had him for a while but he was too aggressive so i gave him back to the lfs. Well i recently set up up a 10g FOWLR ( i used some sand and water from my other tank and the parameters are very good) and readopted the little bundle of joy. He's doing great he seems happy and is nowhere near as aggressive as he used to be. He took right to the nem that i moved from my other tank also. My question is would he take to his old mate? I know they can be notoriously aggressive and choosy when it comes to pairing but since it was already paired up with this one maybe they would take? He killed the clarkii i tried pairing him with before i gave him up. I have a feeling of what might happen i just really want a pair. Any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

i figured id share a photo or two as well.

If you want to try it, I'd go for it. But do it smartly. Get a accilmation box or other clear plastic container with holes for water flow( the cheap breeder boxes from petco for freshwater work well)and place the new clown in it, Give your other clown who is more than likely done turned female a chance to get used to it being there before you release it into your tank. Wait till signs of agression from the female stop and let the male go and see what happens. Be ready to remove it back to the container if things don't go well. Also make sure your not putting two females in the same tank because they will kill each other.
