Ok, So this all started about 2 yrs ago...I had picked up a 100 gallon setup from a guy on Craigslist and got the bug...
IMG_3067.JPG
I quickly thought wow this is easy and added a 65...
IMG_3069.JPG
This tank was mostly for this guy.
IMG_3086.JPG
Then I picked up a 90 gallon RR that had these guys who I moved into the 100 long tank so they had more swim room.
IMG_3123.JPG
So heres the 90 finally set up.
IMG_3169.JPG
So now that I'm "a Pro" I decided another 90 was in order.
IMG_3625.JPG
At this point I converted the 100 to freshwater for my daughter and focused on the two 90's and the 65. I had this great idea...I picked up a 120 and was going to put it unwell in my living room.

This is where things got out of control. More to follow.

So I decided to take out that wall and was going to put a 180 along that back wall.

That room was and entryway about two feet lower than the main floor that the tanks are on

Went further and decided to open things up a bit, move stairs etc. I promise I will get to the tank build soon!!!!

Now that that's all cleaned up! See there are a couple of tanks! Got carried away and decided to go full open concept and was going to put a very large tank where that stud wall is. I'll spare the months of doing this all myself...it sucked.

Finally 20 grand later the remodel is almost done, almost tank time!

My poor overcrowded neglected tank.... sold off one of the 90's crammed what was left in here. Six months of neglect has taken it's toll but now it's time...
IMG_0111.JPG

So I got my lumber cut.
IMG_0116.JPG

And got the stand put together. If you notice carpet that's because after all the work I did upstairs I finally decided to set this up in the Family Room downstairs!!! I could have saved the 20 grand for a bigger build lol!

Got the tank delivered December 4th and it's finally downstairs and on the stand. I'm going to have a sump room to the right where that door is. Time to finalize sump plans.

IMG_0209.JPG

It's been a couple weeks of no progress but now that my DCT 15000 pump has arrived it's time to start plumbing. I hit up Lowes and got some materials...
IMG_0207.JPG

Old 75 I will be using for the sump, ordered some glass for the baffles.
IMG_0222.JPG

Well I put in the baffles and this is my custom filter sock holder.
IMG_0230.JPG

I ran two 1" siphons with gate valves and two 1 1/2" backup drains. Return is going over the top of the tank.
IMG_0231.JPG

Will be doing a partial wall that will hide the plumbing.

About a week before Christmas and I'm starting the water test. At this point I'm really excited!
IMG_0242.JPG

Picked up this G4 Skimmer body on the cheap! Big improvement over the little guy on the left. Will get a pump for it ordered ASAP.
IMG_0290.JPG

Christmas Day! My daughter went to visit her mom so I took the opportunity to acid bathe all my old rock in preparation for the new tank.
IMG_0284.JPG

My poor 90 gallon is looking pretty sad.
IMG_0303.JPG

And this is what I have to work with.
IMG_0323.JPG

Decided to try a minimalistic approach this time. I plan on a mixed reef heavily stocked with fish.
IMG_0357.JPG

Started setting up the sump room, once again progress is slow and I am still lacking some materials. The acrylic sump on right is temporary will be a 40 breeder. Forgot to take pics but I took the sump apart and drilled it to connect to the secondary sump, the pump chamber was too small and it would run the pump out of water on system start up.Those overflows are temporary.
IMG_0381.JPG

It's happy New Years Day!Have the 40 Breeder add on sump drilled and installed and added the manifold for the upper tanks.

IMG_0391.JPG

Have the sink and RO/DI moved into the sump room and started framing in the room. Figure the tank is cycling so might as well get other stuff done while I wait.
