Clean back wall?

I stuck some green star polyps to mine and let it grow. Only about a third covered so far but I think it looks good

Working on the same thing in mine. I’ve got about 25% covered after 3 months and it looks awesome. Now it’s competing with the GHA on my back wall and hoping the GSP wins!

My fav LFS has 10+ year old mature tanks with large SPS colonies. Tanks are spotless with clean back glass.

The back of my tank was never cleaned, for many years. After breaking it down, putting in storage and not pulling out of really long-term storage to set it up again I have to not clean the back, ever. The coralin algae etched the back glass that was never cleaned. I was considering setting it up as a peninsula tank but that won't work now. Up against a wall it goes. So, moral of the story, if you ever think that you may wish to peninsula your tank, keep all panes of glass clean.

I clean my back wall twice a year when I take my powerheads off for cleaning. Just scrub with a scrubbing pad on a handle to loosen up soft algae, I leave the coralline alone.
