Is it possible to have a clean bottom in a BB tank, in a mature system? I hate the look of coralline algae and have always scraped it off of all sides and equipment. Now that I have a BB tank, the coralline is covering the bottom faster than I can scrape it.....plus it gets into areas I can't reach. Should I just give it and let it cover the bottom??

Post up a pic.
I like it but everyone is different.
Here is a pick of mine 5 months in.

You can let it go and then eventually get some encrusting corals to create a bottom with other colors.....that would still satisfy the open bottom look.

You can also populate your tank with asternia stars......they will decimate coraline.

Another option would be a pin cushion urchin...........you have to make sure everything is tied down good as they tend to push over or throw loose corals on their backs.

I like the pink look it's a nice contrast to the other colors.....don't be so anal:)

Thanks for the replies........I guess I better stop removing the stars ;) I didn't even realize the urchins ate coralline.....might have to pick on up. Oh well....I guess I let it grow!!!!!!!!
