Clean Chaeto / Mexico City

Hi All –

Anyone have recommendations on a good Chaeto source in Mexico City?

Estoy buscando unas alagas de tipo “Chaeto” en la Ciudad de México. Tengo un tanque nuevo y el ciclo nitrógeno está terminando. Quiero añadir las algas ahora, pero no se una buena fuente. Alguien sabe una buena fuente?

As a follow on to this thread, I found some Chaeto on MercadoLibre. Conveniently shipped right to my door. It's been in my tank for about three weeks now, and it seems to be thriving.

Hi, I am in Mexico City completing also my cycling. Bought the chaeto at mercado de peces Morelos with no issues. There are also a couple of optins for frags. Have you decided from where are you going to source corals from?

A couple of the shops in the mercado de los peces had some really nice looking corals. I also looked at La casa de los peces in Del valle, the market near Mixiuhca, and Acuario ReefServices in the south off of the periferico. Right now, I'm leaning towards Acuario ReefServices.

I am also leaning to ReefServices, and probably you want to check these guys https://www.coralecolab.com/

They do not seem to have anything exotic, but I like their approach.

I stopped by CoralEcolab out in Santa Fe; I too like the approach they take. I may end up asking them for a couple of things in the future. In the meantime, I stopped by ReefServices and picked up a couple of corals and some crabs to help round out my clean up crew.

I also went to Reef Services over the weekend to pick up a fish. I currently have CUC, two small black perculas (mercado morelos) and Helfrichi goby (RS).

I setup the tank mid April and probably wait a couple of months to start stocking with corals.
