Clean equipment for new tank build

so i was able to find a new home for all my corals and fish and now my 55g and sump are ready to be taken down. My 100g will arrive in a few days so i want to give a deep cleaning to all my equipment that i will be using in my new build. I want to make sure that the equipmet is like new when it is put in the 100g system. Any advice on what to clean it with would ne great. I was thinking maybe vinager or bleach.

Either will work, just makes sure there is a lot of rinsing afterwards if you go with bleach. Personally I like to use vinegar... a lot. Five gallon bucket, three or so gallons of water, about a gallon of vinegar (probably overkill), throw all powerheads, pumps, heaters, whatever in the bucket, plug in said powerheads/pumps (wouldn't suggest the heater ), and let it do it's thing for a couple hours. Then just wipe down, rinse, and things will be just about good as new!

Thanks! Just what i needed to know. Ive been procrastinating on cleaning but i dont want to be stuck doing it when the new tank arrives.

I fill up a bucket and add 2 cups of vinegar. I let things like power heads etc soak for 1-2 hours then scrub them. comes out pretty clean..

It's so easy and quick. I just let the water movement from the pumps do the work for me. You may have to scrub some leftover coralline, but other than that a simple wipe down will do

Sounds like a plan! Now i just need to get my wife to help me move the old tank and stand down in the basement..that should be fun.

Agreed. I do this once every six months (except the heater)
