Switched to live aquaria professional salt mix recently.

Has no residue thus far and priced near instant ocean. Mixed rather quickly. And has a dkh near what you are looking for.

Also do not use a pump to mix, there is intense heat produced on the blades of the pump that can cause some precipitation. At least according to red sea seminar i sat through.
How did they recommend mixing the salt?

How did they recommend mixing the salt?

I got in the habit of mixing a day or more before hand. The salts i have used have all dissolved on their own.

. Some dust was in the bucket what the flash picked up on the surface but this is 8 hours after just dumping in salt to reach 35ppt

So Red Sea recommends just dumping the salt in the water and letting it dissolve?

Something to do with the elevated levels of calcium in their mix. Not sure if this applies to all salt tbh. Maybe someone else was listening more intently [emoji23]. But was Scott Kohler that gave the presentation.

Pretty simple. Had the same issue with Red Sea salt. Switched to Tropic Marine Reef Pro salt. In 20 min everything is crystal clear and no crud. Remember that if the saltwater bin is heated and sits for more than 3-4 days you will get crud regardless of what salt you use.

Interesting. Thanks for the input! My mix tank isn’t heated but it does stay in there circulating for 3 weeks at a time.
