Clean my Skimmer?

I am doing some maintenance on the tank right now. Should i clean my skimmer out ? Or let it be? if so , what should i use ? and should i use R/O to clean it or can i just use tap water?

I just clean the cup, if you have a smaller tank and clean the whole thing you are going to lose a lot of beneficial bacteria and maybe very very very detrimental to the tank.

+1 just clean the cup out. If you have a build up at the base of the neck of the skimmer you can wipe that out as well...
