So my tank has been set up for 4 weeks now!!Water params are all normal! I have a aqueon quiet flow 30 that has Purigen and chemi pure elite. I also have a HOB refugium with live rock and chaeto. I have 30 pounds live sand, and 20-25 pounds of live rock in the tank. I have 2 marineland LEDs and 2 hydor 240's as well. Salinity is 1.026 and temp 78. I do have a small outbreak of green hair algae on the glass but the hermits have kept it off everything else! I'm thinking of adding 2 black ice clowns this week! Also thinking of adding some nassarius snails, an emerald crab, a red banded pistol shrimp, a peppermint shrimp, and a scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp. Any thoughts? Will all these different shrimp get a long? Any more thoughts as far as CUC? I already have 15 blue leg hermits in there.

IMO you have 14 to many hermits-seriously. Nassarius snails are always a plus. Go with the Cleaner Shrimp, nix the Peppermint. Emerald crabs are hit or miss. Some go rouge some not, like hermits.
Keep in mind, these critters spend up to 16hrs a day foraging for food. Less is more [emoji6] Treat them like you would your fish, don't over stock.

I'll have to disagree with the above statement! I have over fifteen snails in my 8G and various ornamental shrimp, and over 50 snails in my 60G.

I have only lost two snails in the last four months, so they can't be starving.

I hear of some people who scrape their glass every couple of days or weekly....I barely do mine once a month. I just don't have to.

I think a bulky CUC is one key to success in a reef tank. algae issues are MUCH easier to prevent than treat.
